The Jet Award has been given for the past two years to the most outstanding College Football Return Specialist.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will go toward the Johnny Rodgers Career and Technical Education Scholarship fund at Metropolitan Community College.
The scholarship program has the support of the Omaha Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO, according to President Terry Moore.
The Jet Award event will feature a banquet dinner and award presentation on the floor of the arena, followed by a party in the Ralston Arena’s Community Rink.
“The Jet” Award is named for Johnny “The Jet” Rodgers, the 38th Heisman Award winner and the first Heisman winner from the University of Nebraska Lincoln.
